Job Summary

This role is perfect for a Scientific Associate eager to contribute their expertise to patient-oriented molecular diagnostics within Onco-Genetics and Somatic Diagnostics. Day-to-day responsibilities involve the creation of diagnostic reports in molecular (hemato-)oncology, evaluating Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) and Liquid Biopsy data, and applying this knowledge to routine diagnostics to aid in individualized therapy design. The successful candidate will actively optimize NGS analysis pipelines, develop new analytical methods, and ensure all tasks adhere to certified quality management systems (ISO 9001/ISO 15189). Key qualifications include a degree in Biology or a comparable natural science, professional experience in molecular pathology or (hemato-)oncological diagnostics, and familiarity with genetic databases and specialized LIS systems. Degree in Biology or comparable natural science; PhD welcome but not mandatory

Experience

  • Professional experience in (hemato-)oncological or molecular pathological diagnostics
  • Expertise in molecular biological and genetic procedures, especially NGS
  • Experience working with peripheral blood, bone marrow, and FFPE samples
  • Experience in creating diagnostic reports considering therapeutic options (ideally)
  • Familiarity with genetic databases and analysis pipelines for somatic variants (ideally)
