Job Summary

This role involves contributing specialized expertise to patient-oriented diagnostics within a leading medical-diagnostic services group in Hannover. The Scientific Associate will be responsible for generating reports in molecular (hemato-)oncology and somatic genetics, directly influencing individual therapy planning. Key tasks include analyzing Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) data, liquid biopsy results, and other somatic genetic analyses using modern IT systems like GePaDo, MOLIS, Varvis, and QCI. The position requires active involvement in optimizing NGS analysis pipelines and developing new diagnostic procedures, ensuring all work adheres to certified quality management systems (ISO 9001/ISO 15189). Candidates must possess a degree in Biology or a related natural science, along with professional experience in molecular pathology or onco-hematological diagnostics, particularly NGS and somatic variant assessment according to WHO/Tier classifications. Completed degree in Biology or a comparable natural science study program. Doctorate (PhD) is welcome but not mandatory.

Experience

  • Professional experience in (hemato-)oncological or molecular pathological diagnostics
  • Extensive knowledge of molecular biological and genetic procedures, especially NGS
  • Experience working with peripheral blood, bone marrow, and FFPE samples
  • Experience in generating diagnostic reports considering therapeutic options (ideally)
  • Familiarity with genetic databases and analysis pipelines for somatic variants (ideally)
