Job Summary

This role involves joining a dedicated team in Hannover, Germany, focusing on cutting-edge genetic diagnostics, specifically in molecular (hemato-)oncology and somatic genetics. The Scientific Associate will be responsible for preparing diagnostic reports, utilizing their expertise to contribute to individualized therapy planning, and ensuring the highest quality standards are met under certified quality management systems (ISO 9001/15189). Key tasks include analyzing Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) data, liquid biopsy results, and other somatic genetic analyses. The position requires active involvement in optimizing NGS analysis pipelines and developing new analytical methods to expand the diagnostic portfolio. Candidates must possess a degree in Biology or a related natural science field, significant experience in molecular diagnostics, and proficiency with specialized laboratory and genetic database systems like GePaDo, MOLIS, Varvis, and QCI.

Required Skills

Education

Completed degree in Biology or a comparable natural science study program. A PhD is welcome but not mandatory.

Experience

  • Professional experience in (hemato-)oncological or molecular pathological diagnostics
  • Extensive knowledge of molecular biological and genetic procedures, especially NGS
  • Experience working with peripheral blood, bone marrow, and FFPE samples
  • Experience in preparing diagnostic reports considering therapeutic options (ideal)
  • Familiarity with genetic databases and analysis pipelines for somatic variants (ideal)
