Job Summary

This role is for an expert Medicinal Chemist focusing on advancing the antiinfectives pipeline at the Leibniz-HKI, developing new small molecule therapeutics and biologics against infectious diseases, including antibiotics, antifungals, and antivirals. The professional will lead target-based research, focusing on the synthesis and optimization of biologically active small molecules. Key responsibilities include leading a cross-functional project team, analyzing complex data sets to establish Structure-Activity Relationships (SAR) and Structure-Property Relationships (SPR), and managing laboratory operations and scientific staff. The ideal candidate holds an advanced degree (PhD) in Medicinal Chemistry or a related field and possesses at least two years of project management experience in drug discovery, coupled with expertise in biophysical assays (SPR, fluorescence) and modern synthetic methods. Required Skills

Education
