Job Summary

This role is for an Officer in Country Analysis, focusing on Eurasia, Sub-Saharan Africa, and the Americas, within the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) in Nuremberg. The successful candidate will be responsible for conceptual and coordinating tasks related to country-of-origin information (COI) for asylum and migration-relevant topics. Key responsibilities include ensuring the scientific quality of reports, guiding country analysts in daily operations, and supporting the department's development and networking with international organizations. This position requires strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills, along with a commitment to public service, offering a secure, permanent position with opportunities for professional development in a vital government agency.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree (minimum grade 'good') in Administrative Sciences, Political Science, Regional Studies, Sociology, Religious Studies, or History

Experience

  • Professional experience in scientific work or editing is beneficial
  • Practical experience with asylum procedures is beneficial

Additional

  • Must be willing to undergo and successfully pass a basic security clearance (SÜ1). Willingness to undertake occasional multi-day business trips within Germany, Europe, and internationally. Foreign university degrees require comparability and recognition by the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB).
