Job Summary

This role involves acting as an Officer within the Country Analysis department, focusing on regions such as the Western Balkans, North Africa, the Middle East, South, and East Asia. The primary responsibilities include contributing to the publication of asylum and migration-relevant country information, ensuring the scientific quality of reports and services, and providing technical and methodological guidance to country analysts. The successful candidate will also support the department's organization and development, represent the department at events, and collaborate with international organizations on Country of Origin Information (COI). This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to critical asylum and migration processes within a federal agency, ensuring the accuracy and depth of information used for operational decision-making.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree in Administrative Sciences, Political Science, Regional Studies, Sociology, Religious Studies, or History with a minimum grade of "good".

Experience

  • Professional experience in scientific work or editing is beneficial
  • Practical experience with asylum procedures is beneficial

Additional

  • Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a basic security clearance (SÜ1). Willingness to travel nationally and internationally (Europe and non-Europe) several times a year for one to multiple days. Proven country-specific knowledge of one or more of the following regions is advantageous: Near and Middle East, North Africa, Western Balkans, South and East Asia. Theoretical knowledge of asylum and foreign law (especially Asylum Act, Residence Act) is beneficial. For foreign university degrees, proof of comparability and recognition by the Central Office for Foreign Education (ZAB) is required.
