Job Summary

This role as a Biological and Medical Laboratory Technician involves supporting cutting-edge research at the UKSH's Dermatology and Allergology Clinic in Kiel, focusing on inflammatory skin diseases. Day-to-day responsibilities include processing complex study samples, isolating biomaterials (DNA, RNA, proteins, PBMCs), and performing advanced molecular and cell biology techniques such as PCR, quantitative PCR, multiplex ELISA (Luminex), Western Blot (WES), and flow cytometry (FACS). A critical component is the preparation of sequencing libraries for single-cell sequencing and working with cell cultures, including the creation of 3D skin models. Candidates must have completed vocational training as a Biological-Technical Assistant (BTA) or Medical-Technical Laboratory Assistant (MTLA), possess fluent English skills for scientific communication and protocol reading, and demonstrate proficiency in meticulous lab documentation and effective teamwork. This position offers exposure to modern research methodologies in a highly engaged interdisciplinary team environment.
