Job Summary

This role involves contributing to the ambitious goal of achieving a climate-neutral property portfolio for the state of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) by 2030, managing one of Europe's largest and most complex real estate portfolios. Day-to-day responsibilities include expert monitoring, quality assurance, and performance review of external architectural and engineering firms, as well as executing HOAI services independently. You will collaborate closely with project managers and stakeholders on large-scale construction and maintenance projects, assisting with scheduling, budgeting, and cost planning. The ideal candidate holds a degree in Building Services Engineering or a related field, or possesses a Master Craftsman/Technician qualification with extensive relevant experience. Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks (HOAI, VOB) and excellent negotiation and communication skills are essential for success in this challenging and rewarding position, which offers high flexibility, mobile work options (up to 60%), and a secure, permanent contract.

Required Skills

Education

Completed degree (Diploma/Master/Bachelor) in Building Services Engineering, Technical Building Equipment (TGA), or comparable engineering discipline; OR successful completion as a State-Certified Technician or Master Craftsman in the aforementioned fields, plus supplementary training.

Experience

  • Professional experience in a related field is advantageous
  • Minimum six years of relevant professional experience in an engineering-like capacity (required if qualifying via Technician/Master Craftsman route)
  • Professional experience in the application of relevant legal regulations (HOAI, VOB)
