Job Summary

This role involves acting as a Scientific Researcher within the Institute for Strategies and Impact Assessment, focusing on developing a national forest damage and cause detection system based on forest protection reporting. Key responsibilities include analyzing existing systems, designing workflows for information transfer to databases and decision support systems, and developing database models, particularly those integrating GIS, AI, and Data Cube technologies. The successful candidate will play a central role in research data management, especially for geospatial data, and will coordinate testing and validation efforts. This position requires a Master's degree in Informatics, Geoinformatics, or a related field, coupled with very strong knowledge of relational databases, Data Cube systems, and the optimization of spatial database schemas. Strong communication skills and the ability to present results in both German and English are essential for collaborating with international teams and external partners.

Master's degree, University Diploma, or equivalent in Informatics, Geoinformatics, Environmental Informatics, Remote Sensing, or a comparable discipline

Experience
