Job Summary

This role is a pivotal opportunity for an experienced IT Architect to actively shape the digital transformation within Germany's public research sector, specifically supporting institutions under the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMLEH). The successful candidate will join the "Future IT" working group, focusing on developing sustainable and efficient IT landscapes for key federal research agencies. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing existing heterogeneous IT systems, developing target architectures for consolidation and collaboration, and driving the implementation of joint IT solutions. This requires strong strategic thinking, the ability to moderate complex decision-making processes up to the highest leadership levels, and excellent communication skills to advocate for technical positions and forge compromises among critical stakeholders. The position is ideal for someone who wants to apply their expertise in IT architecture, management, and project execution to create socially relevant and sustainable impact.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree, University Diploma, or comparable qualification in a MINT (STEM) field, or comparable qualification with proven IT expertise

Experience

  • Professional experience in holistic IT landscape assessment
  • Multi-year experience in the conception and implementation of IT projects
  • Experience in IT consolidation or merging heterogeneous system landscapes (ideally)
  • Experience in accompanying change processes and organizational development
  • Experience in administrative and/or research digitalization (ideally)
