Job Summary

This role involves supporting critical environmental research focused on the ecological and chemical status of agricultural waters in the Berlin-Dahlem area. The Technical Assistant will be responsible for preparing and executing chemical and biological sampling campaigns in the field, including collecting water samples and physical-chemical parameter data. A significant part of the job involves laboratory work, such as performing spectrophotometric measurements for algae concentration and assisting with the taxonomic identification of aquatic invertebrates (macrozoobenthos). The ideal candidate possesses a relevant technical degree (CTA, BTA, LTA) and experience in water sampling and organism identification. This is a demanding position requiring physical fitness for fieldwork in challenging terrain, strong data documentation skills using electronic databases and MS Office, and a reliable, independent work ethic. The position is full-time and temporary until December 31, 2026.

Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as a Technical Assistant (CTA, BCTA, LTA, or BTA) or training as a Biology/Chemistry Laboratory Technician, or equivalent qualification.

Experience

  • Professional experience in conducting water sampling
