Job Summary

This role involves contributing to the BLE project BlühASS, focusing on developing molecular markers for breeding climate-adapted pome and stone fruit varieties with late flowering. The Scientific Researcher will be responsible for phenotyping bud break and flower development traits, performing genotyping and processing large genomic SNP datasets, and conducting genome-wide association studies (GWAS) and QTL mapping to identify candidate genes. Key requirements include a Master's degree in Biology, Horticulture, Agricultural Sciences, or a related field, along with strong expertise in genetics, molecular biology, and experience handling large marker datasets and gene functional characterization. The position is a varied, challenging, and interesting part-time opportunity (25.35 hours/week) in an international environment, initially limited until May 8, 2026, with potential for extension.
