Job Summary
This role is critical for safeguarding the integrity of a state-of-the-art semiconductor manufacturing process in Dresden, Germany. The Chemical Analysis Engineer will be instrumental in developing, operating, and leading the chemical analysis functions for a major European semiconductor joint venture (ESMC). Day-to-day tasks include architecting and establishing advanced chemical laboratory capabilities, executing routine raw material monitoring, providing rapid troubleshooting for critical events, and defining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The ideal candidate must possess a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Chemistry or a related field, coupled with a minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in the semiconductor industry or chemical laboratories. Deep expertise in analytical techniques like ICP-MS, GC-MS, and IC, along with experience in managing chemical laboratories and leading international projects, is essential. This is a unique opportunity to actively shape the future of the Dresden facility and requires availability for a 6-9 month on-the-job training period in Taiwan, along with preparedness for weekend and night-shift on-duty assignments.
Required Skills
Education
Bachelor's, Master’s degree, or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related scientific field
Experience
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive working experience in the semiconductor industry, chemical laboratories, or a closely related field
- Significant hands-on experience in chemical analysis techniques
- Proven experience in managing chemical laboratories and navigating complex chemical regulations
- Extensive experience in leading projects with multidisciplinary international teams
- Significant experience in management of analytical instruments and standard samples
- Experience in leading a small team (significant plus)
