Job Summary

This role is a permanent, full-time position based in Magdeburg, focusing on the construction, operation, and maintenance of critical electrotechnical systems across federal waterways, including locks, weirs, canal bridges, gauging stations, and control centers within the Elbe Waterways and Shipping Office (WSA Elbe). The Electrical Engineering Specialist will be responsible for planning, executing construction, and maintaining these complex electrical systems, including investment measures. Key duties involve developing technical concepts (hardware/software, user interfaces), overseeing and coordinating maintenance tasks, and managing construction projects according to federal regulations. A significant focus will be on automating lock systems for remote control and monitoring. The ideal candidate must hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, possess at least three years of practical experience in maintaining electrical systems, and demonstrate strong German communication skills (C1 minimum).
