Job Summary
Join the Evolutionary Neuroscience and Behavior research group at the Max Planck Institute for Brain Research in Frankfurt am Main as a Technical Assistant. This role involves crucial laboratory management, including equipment maintenance and supply ordering, and providing essential experimental support to an international team. You will be instrumental in conducting standard cloning procedures, embryo injections, histological techniques, and performing behavioral tests on flies. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, passionate about science, and possesses excellent experimental and communication skills, working closely with researchers to advance understanding of brain circuitry and the evolution of social behaviors. Required Skills
Education
Degree as Technical Assistant (BTA/MTA/CTA) or BSc/MSc in a relevant field
Experience
- Professional experience with standard molecular biology and histology procedures
- Experience in developing, planning, and conducting animal behavior experiments
- Experience in insect neurology is beneficial

Additional
- Start date October 2025. Initial one-year contract with possibility of extension.
