Job Summary
This role as a Technical Assistant involves providing essential support to scientists within the Instinctive Behaviour Circuits department at the Max Planck Institute for Brain Research in Frankfurt. The core responsibilities include performing histological procedures, manually analyzing video recordings of behavior, and utilizing existing Python programming scripts for automated data analysis. You will also assist with behavioral experiments as needed. Candidates must possess a completed BTA/CTA/MTA qualification or a relevant BSc/MSc degree, mandatory certification from a FELASA course (Function A, GKP + Basic Module Mouse), and strong knowledge in neurobiology and behavioral biology. This is a 6-month fixed-term position offering a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge biological research, work independently, and contribute to fundamental studies on the neuronal basis of instinctive behavior, requiring excellent communication skills in both English and German.

Education
Completed vocational training (Biological/Chemical/Medical Technical Assistant) or comparable university degree (BSc/MSc)
Experience
- Completed animal welfare course according to FELASA (Function A, GKP + Basic Module Mouse) is required
