Job Summary
The Max Planck Institute for Brain Research in Frankfurt am Main is seeking a Technical Assistant to join the Connectomics Department, focusing on the structure and function of neural circuits. This role involves providing technical and experimental support to the research team, primarily through hands-on laboratory work. Key daily activities include animal experimentation, tissue processing for electron microscopy, operating electron microscopes, and applying various histological techniques. Candidates must possess a completed vocational training as a Biological or Medical Technical Assistant (BTA/MTA) and demonstrate practical experience in histology. The ideal candidate is proactive, dedicated, independent, and a strong team player. Excellent proficiency in both German and English, alongside good IT skills, are essential for success in this international research environment. This is a full or part-time position, initially limited to two years.
