Job Summary

This role involves operating and maintaining pilot plant equipment used for shaping ceramic and metal-ceramic materials within the Institute for Ceramics, Refractories, and Composites. The Technical Staff Member will be responsible for independently producing test specimens, requiring close coordination with technical and scientific personnel. Key duties include modifying equipment controls to meet specific material property requirements, as well as starting, maintaining, and relining high-temperature furnace systems with new refractory materials. Additionally, the position involves operating preparation equipment (cutting, drilling) for materials and managing the ordering of gas cylinders. Ideal candidates must have a completed technical education (e.g., Physics Laboratory Technician) and possess practical skills, self-reliance, and strong teamwork abilities, coupled with good proficiency in both German and English.

Completed vocational training in a physical-technical field (e.g., Physics Laboratory Technician or comparable qualification)

Experience

  • Experience in ceramic shaping (cold isostatic pressing, autoclave technology) is advantageous
  • Experience in ceramic furnace construction is advantageous
  • Professional experience in a physical-technical field
