Job Summary

This role involves taking full responsibility for the digital domain of KIT nova, a unique learning and innovation ecosystem at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). The Digital Catalyst will drive strategic conceptualization, manage the digital offerings, and ensure efficient digital operations. Key responsibilities include steering organizational development in the digital realm, acting as the main digital contact person, and developing and managing advanced digital services such as AI tools, chatbots, avatar-based virtual spaces, and managing high-performance hardware like VR/AR glasses and robotic arms. The ideal candidate holds a Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, possesses strong digital competence, and has proven experience in full-stack development, system administration (Windows/Linux), data management, and working with modern digital tools like Docker, Git, and Cloud platforms. This is an exciting opportunity to proactively shape a cutting-edge digital ecosystem supporting student projects and industry collaborations within a prestigious university setting.

Required Skills

Education

Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related technical field

Experience

  • Professional experience in developing and supporting digital systems
  • Experience with at least one programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, PHP), ideally full stack
  • Proven experience handling digital tools and AI tools (e.g., Docker, Git, Cloud-Plattforms, LLM, RAG)
  • Experience with database architectures, data management, API integration, and server infrastructure
  • Ideally, experience with VR/AR technologies, Unreal, and Unity
