Job Summary

This role involves supporting the IT Operations Team at the Bundeswehr University Munich's computing center, focusing on the setup, operation, and continuous development of the campus-wide network and server infrastructure. The technician will be responsible for installing and configuring network switches, managing cabling, and administering the data network, including the WLAN infrastructure. Key duties include resolving user inquiries and disturbances via a ticketing system, providing network consultation to customers, and assisting with the maintenance of server rooms and containers. The ideal candidate will have a relevant professional IT qualification and at least three years of professional experience in network technology, coupled with strong knowledge of specific networking tools. Required Skills

Education

Completed vocational training as an Information Electronics Technician, IT System Electronics Technician, or comparable vocational training. Further education as a certified Master Craftsman, State-certified Technician, or Bachelor Professional in Technology (desirable).

Experience

  • Professional experience in the described field, typically not less than three years
  • Experience in the setup, administration, and operation of data networks (desirable)
  • Experience with complex logical and physical network relationships (desirable)
