Job Summary

The Bundeswehr is seeking a Geoinformation Service Engineer to join the Naval Command (MarKdo) in Rostock. This critical role involves planning, coordinating, and executing maritime GeoInfo support for Crisis Prevention Teams (KVT) and the Crisis Prevention Information System (KVInfoSys). Day-to-day tasks include managing data exchange within the KVInfoSys service network, participating in briefings and data conferences for KVT deployments, and developing interfaces for providing maritime geodata in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The engineer will also adapt procedures for integrating data from imaging sensors into the maritime GeoInfo database and represent the department in various working groups. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geoinformatics, Cartography, or a comparable field, along with professional experience in applying GIS. The role offers the stability of public service employment, potential for civil servant status, and a competitive salary, though regular business travel and participation in training are mandatory.

Required Skills

Education

Bachelor's degree (FH or comparable) in Surveying, Geoinformatics, Cartography, or Geoinformation Systems; or comparable qualification. Civil servant qualification for the higher technical or scientific administrative service (if already a civil servant).

Experience
