Job Summary

This permanent, full-time role as a Surveying and Geoinformatics Engineer at the Waterways New Construction Office (WNA) Helmstedt focuses on critical land acquisition for federal waterway expansion and construction projects, such as the Mittelland Canal. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and initiating necessary cadastral surveys, conducting negotiations with third parties for land purchases and usage rights, and independently evaluating property values and determining compensation. You will be responsible for drafting and finalizing property contracts and agreements, reviewing land acquisition plans for regulatory approval processes, and representing the WSV in public hearings and administrative procedures. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in Surveying, Geodesy, or Geoinformatics. Essential qualifications include knowledge of property law, administrative procedures, and planning regulations, alongside experience utilizing GIS and property information systems. This position offers excellent work-life balance through flexible hours and up to 60% remote work after the probationary period.
