Job Summary

This role involves working as a Materials Engineer or Physicist within the central research division of the Salzgitter Group, focusing on developing cutting-edge steel materials and process technologies. The successful candidate will independently manage development projects, overseeing the entire lifecycle from initial laboratory experiments through to successful industrial series production implementation. A key focus will be analyzing the intricate relationships between process parameters and material properties to drive optimization and innovation. This position is critical in supporting the group's transformation towards sustainable, low-CO2 steelmaking (SALCOS®) and future hydrogen metallurgy. Candidates must possess a strong academic background in Materials Science or Physics, coupled with creativity, self-reliance, and initial experience in programming and data analysis. Required Skills

Education

Degree in Materials Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Metallurgy, or comparable field. Doctorate (PhD) is advantageous.

Experience

  • Experience implementing developments from laboratory phase to industrial series production.
  • Initial experience in programming and data analysis.
