Job Summary

This crucial role, based in Salzgitter, involves pioneering the development of new steel materials and process technologies within the central research division of the Salzgitter Group. The successful candidate will independently manage complex development projects, guiding them from the initial laboratory phase through to industrial series production in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, including production, sales, and external customers. A core focus of the position is supporting the group's transition to sustainable, low-CO2 steelmaking through the SALCOS® project, specifically by designing sustainable material solutions for future hydrogen metallurgy. This requires analyzing the intricate relationships between process parameters and material properties to drive optimization. The position demands a quick and successful degree in Materials Engineering or a related field, coupled with strong communication skills and foundational knowledge in programming and data analysis, offering excellent career prospects within a leading sustainable industry innovator.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (successfully and promptly completed) in Materials Engineering, Materials Science, Metal Physics, Metallurgy, or comparable field. A PhD is advantageous.
