Job Summary

This role offers a highly motivated and talented individual the opportunity to join the DFG-funded Research Training Group (RTG 3120) at TUD Dresden, focusing on the cutting-edge, interdisciplinary field of biomolecular condensates. The primary task involves characterizing the function of ribonucleoprotein (RNP) granules in the pathogenesis of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and motor neuron degeneration. Day-to-day work will utilize advanced techniques, including induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived motor neurons and FUS-eGFP reporter iPSCs for live-cell imaging and compound screening aimed at identifying novel therapeutic drugs. This position is situated within a leading University of Excellence and offers an exciting interdisciplinary environment bridging physics and biology. Crucially, the role provides the chance to obtain a further academic qualification, typically a PhD, while contributing to vital research on neurodegenerative diseases.
