Engineer specializing in High Voltage or Pulsed Power Technology | Ingenieur*in (d/m/w) mit Schwerpunkt Hochspannungstechnik bzw. Leistungsimpulstechnik
GSI Helmholtzzentrum für Schwerionenforschung GmbH
Job Summary
This role involves supporting the world-leading GSI Helmholtz Centre for Heavy Ion Research in Darmstadt, focusing on the development and maintenance of particle accelerator facilities, including the massive international FAIR project. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, building, and commissioning new high-voltage and pulsed-power components for injection and extraction devices. Day-to-day tasks include communicating with external contractors, managing procurement processes for FAIR components, and taking safety responsibility for specialized equipment. This position requires a strong background in electrical engineering or physics, practical skills for working directly on the facility, and a high degree of reliability and independence. It is an exciting opportunity to contribute to world-class science in a highly technical and international environment, though it includes participation in an on-call rotation requiring rapid on-site presence.
