Job Summary
This role involves managing the Manufacturing, Assembly, Integration, and Testing (MAIT) program for the NewAthena Wide Field Imager (WFI), a key instrument for the future ESA X-ray astronomy mission. The MAIT Manager will be responsible for the planning, organization, direction, and control of the MAIT program, ensuring contractual compliance with ESA standards and requirements. Day-to-day tasks include establishing the AIT plan and schedule, reviewing documentation, preparing test set-ups, and executing AIT operations. The ideal candidate possesses an engineering degree, at least five years of aerospace industry experience, and familiarity with clean room operations and highly sensitive products. This position requires excellent communication and planning skills, high responsibility, and involves working closely with the WFI Project Office and acting as the primary management interface with ESA and DLR, often requiring frequent international travel.
