Job Summary

This part-time (20 hours/week) Research Associate position at the University of Rostock's Institute for Physics focuses on advanced research in Biotechnology, specifically targeting scientific qualification leading to a Doctorate (PhD). The core responsibilities involve conducting cutting-edge experiments using sophisticated techniques such as Scanning Probe Microscopy (SPM) within physiological or cell culture media, and employing Fluorescence Microscopy. The successful candidate will be responsible for comprehensive data evaluation, generating graphical representations, and leading scientific discussions based on derived results. This role requires an excellent academic background, specifically a Master's degree (or equivalent) in Biotechnology, coupled with a strong interest in interdisciplinary topics like the interaction of living cells with functional surface structures. Essential qualifications include deep foundational knowledge of Natural or Nanosciences, particularly concerning interfaces and SPM methodologies. The position is initially limited to one year and requires very good proficiency (C1 level) in English.
