Job Summary

The University of Rostock is seeking a Research Associate in Power Electronics to join the Institute for Electrical Energy Technology, focusing on a project titled "Noise Reduction in Generators for Wind Turbines." This full-time, fixed-term position (until January 31, 2029) involves researching control procedures for 10 MW generators and designing and implementing a 100 kW machine test bench. Day-to-day tasks include developing both analog and digital electronic modules and programming DSPs and FPGAs. The ideal candidate holds a Master's degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering with excellent knowledge of power electronics and control engineering, coupled with experience in converter control and micro-controller/DSP programming. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in renewable energy and potentially pursue a doctorate within a modern and family-friendly university environment.

Required Skills

Education

Completed scientific university degree (Diploma, Master, or comparable qualification) in Electrical Engineering or comparable field, preferably with a very good result.

Experience

  • Professional experience with converter control systems
  • Professional experience with µC or DSP programming (preferred)
