Job Summary

This role involves working as an Electrical Engineer or Telecommunications Engineer within the Federal Railway Authority (EBA), focusing on the supervision, approval, and maintenance of railway electrical, signal, and telecommunications (STE) systems. Key responsibilities include overseeing the creation and installation of STE facilities, reviewing implementation plans, monitoring operational safety during construction, and conducting acceptance inspections. The engineer will also be involved in commissioning approval procedures for subsystems like CCS, Energy, SRT, and PRM, and participating in the planning of annual monitoring programs. Candidates must hold a relevant Bachelor's or FH Diploma in Electrical or Telecommunications Engineering, possess strong knowledge of railway laws and administrative regulations, and demonstrate the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in complex supervisory tasks. This is an attractive, permanent position offering flexible work hours and the option to work in either Frankfurt am Main or Saarbrücken.

Required Skills

Education

FH Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Telecommunications Engineering, or comparable qualification. Alternatively, qualification for the higher technical service in the federal administration.

Experience

  • Professional experience and comprehensive knowledge in the construction supervision of complex construction measures related to STE systems (desirable)
  • Professional experience and comprehensive knowledge in the specified area of responsibility (desirable)

  • Must meet the physical requirements for 'Gleistauglichkeit' (Fitness for track work - G25), which is tested by the employer.
