Job Summary

The Federal Office for Inland Traffic Technology (ABVT) is seeking a qualified Engineer specializing in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Telecommunications/Information Technology to join their Technical Operations team in Koblenz. This permanent role involves coordinating the planning, maintenance, inspection, and repair of critical traffic technology systems, including fiber optic networks (SDH, MPLS) and radio operating networks (NIF, AIS, DGNSS) used on federal waterways. Key responsibilities include managing spare parts, coordinating maintenance contracts with third parties, supporting local units with fault resolution, and conducting procurement processes according to public contract law (VgV, UVgO). The ideal candidate will possess a relevant Bachelor's or FH Diploma, practical experience in network technology and maintenance of transmission systems, and excellent German and English language skills, contributing to the safe and reliable operation of Germany's inland traffic infrastructure.
