Job Summary

This role involves the technical operation and management of critical information and traffic control systems for Germany's inland waterways, working for the Federal Agency for Inland Traffic Technology (ABVT) in Koblenz. The successful candidate will coordinate planning, maintenance, and modification measures for complex network infrastructure, including fiber optics (SDH, MPLS) and radio networks (NIF, AIS, DGNSS). Key responsibilities include managing spare parts, coordinating fault resolution, and executing procurement processes (UVgO, EVB-IT, VgV) for technical systems and devices. This position requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Informatics with a focus on Communications or Information Technology, strong technical knowledge in network technology and maintenance, and proficiency in German and English. It offers a stable, permanent position within the public sector, contributing to the safety and efficiency of federal waterways.

Education

FH Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Informatics with a specialization in Communications Technology / Information Technology, or comparable qualification

Experience

  • Professional experience as an Engineer is desirable
  • Practical experience in maintenance, change management, and spare parts management for information services and systems is desirable
  • Practical experience in computer networks and network technology configuration is desirable
  • Practical experience in measurement technology and fault resolution in computer and network technology is desirable
