Job Summary

The State Institute for the Environment in Baden-Württemberg (LUBW) is seeking a Chemical-Technical Assistant to join the 'Measurement Technology and Analytics' department in Karlsruhe, specifically within the 'Organic Trace Substance Analysis, Rhine Monitoring' division. This is a permanent, full-time position focused on environmental protection and public welfare. Day-to-day responsibilities include the preparation of various environmental samples (water, soil) using semi- and fully automated systems, and subsequent measurement and evaluation using complex instrumental analysis devices, particularly GC-MS and GC-MS/MS. The role requires rigorous quality assurance, routine maintenance of analytical instruments, and meticulous data entry into the Laboratory Information and Management System (LIMS). Candidates must have a completed education as a certified Chemical-Technical Assistant or equivalent qualification, practical experience with sample preparation, and familiarity with modern instrumental analysis for organic trace substances.
