Job Summary

This role is designed for a talented PhD student or Research Scientist to join the Section for Special Hematological Diagnostics within the Department of Internal Medicine II, focusing on haematological and oncological diseases. The position is embedded within the DFG-funded Clinical Research Unit CATCH-ALL, where the core focus is understanding leukemia-specific and immunological mechanisms of MRD persistence and defining clinically applicable biomarkers for T-cell fitness in immunotherapy. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing advanced single-cell sequencing, sorting, quantitative molecular assays, methylation profiling, and T-cell functional assays, correlating findings with clinical data from a national multicenter treatment study on ALL. Candidates must hold a Master's or Diploma in natural science or a comparable field, possess strong team orientation, and be able to communicate fluently in English. Experience in multiparametric flow cytometry and high-throughput sequencing data analysis is highly advantageous.

Experience

  • Professional experience in biology, medical life science, or computational biology
  • Experience in multicolor flow cytometry (advantageous)
  • Experience in the analysis of high-throughput sequencing data (advantageous)
  • Experience in the field of hematology (advantageous)
