Job Summary

This role involves contributing to a large, innovative, BMBF-funded research project (NUM-DIZ) focused on establishing a knowledge management system within a major university hospital setting. The Digital Health Engineer will be crucial in modeling and integrating interoperable knowledge management components based on international standards like openEHR and HL7 FHIR. A core responsibility includes the development, testing, and maintenance of robust ETL pipelines for integrating diverse medical data, such as OMICS, laboratory results, and documentation. The position requires a degree in (Medical) Informatics or equivalent, coupled with professional experience, and strong knowledge of modern application architectures, frameworks, and development infrastructures (including Docker and Kubernetes). Excellent analytical skills, an independent working style, and very good English proficiency are mandatory for success in this impactful role, which also includes communicating with scientists, collaborating with partners, and contributing to scientific publications and presentations.

Education

University degree in (Medical) Informatics or an equivalent field of study

Experience

  • Professional experience in a comparable field following a university degree
  • Experience with the implementation and introduction of application systems
