Universitätsklinikum Schleswig-Holstein
Job Summary
This PhD position, part of the DFG-funded Research Training Group (RTG) 3095, focuses on elucidating the mechanisms of protective and pathogenic antibody responses at immunological barrier organs (skin, intestine, lungs). The successful candidate will join subproject P04, based at Kiel University, investigating how individual IgE and IgG clones either drive or protect against food allergy development. Day-to-day tasks involve conducting doctoral research, specifically contrasting IgE glycosylation in atopic dermatitis patients, generating recombinant allergen-specific antibodies, and studying their roles in a murine mouse model of atopic dermatitis. The role requires a Master’s degree in life sciences and experience with mouse models, flow cytometry, and molecular/cellular biology techniques. This is a unique opportunity to engage in cutting-edge immunological research using state-of-the-art technologies like single-cell sequencing and spatial transcriptomics within a structured, collaborative doctoral program between Kiel University and the University of Lübeck.
