Job Summary

The GSI Helmholtz Centre for Heavy Ion Research in Darmstadt is seeking a highly motivated Doctoral Researcher for a three-year fixed-term project within the DINERWA framework, focusing on advanced materials synthesis and radiation resistance for fusion research. The successful candidate will be responsible for synthesizing bulk and nanostructured High-Entropy Alloys (HEAs) using electrochemical deposition, ensuring controlled geometry, composition, and crystallinity. Day-to-day tasks include extensive characterization using modern analytical methods, investigating the radiation-hardening properties of nanostructured samples, and preparing scientific results for presentation and publication in an international research environment. This role requires a strong background (Master's level) in Physics, Materials Science, or Chemistry, coupled with excellent knowledge of electrochemical deposition and nanomaterial characterization, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to one of the world's largest research projects, FAIR.
