Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Doctoral Researcher to contribute to cutting-edge material science research within the DINERWA project, focusing on radiation effects in fusion-relevant materials such as ODS steels, tungsten nanostructures, and advanced alloys. The core responsibilities involve planning, setting up, and executing high-temperature heavy-ion irradiation experiments, and participating in helium implantation campaigns. The role also requires systematic Monte-Carlo simulations to correlate irradiation data with fusion facility conditions. Candidates must hold an above-average Master's degree in Physics or Materials Science, possess strong knowledge of solid-state physics and material characterization techniques, and demonstrate excellent English communication skills to thrive in this international research environment at the GSI Helmholtzzentrum in Darmstadt, home to the FAIR facility.
