Job Summary

This role involves supporting cutting-edge synchrotron radiation research at DESY, one of the world's leading research centers in Hamburg. The Chemical-Technical Assistant will be crucial for the operation and maintenance of chemistry and cleanroom laboratories used by international customers for experiments at the PETRA III and upcoming PETRA IV X-ray beamlines. Day-to-day tasks include general lab organization, customer support and instruction (often in English), procurement administration for equipment and consumables, and the maintenance, calibration, and commissioning of laboratory devices. The ideal candidate holds a degree as a Chemical-Technical Assistant or equivalent, possesses experience in operating chemistry labs, handling hazardous materials, and is proficient in English, enabling effective support for the international research community.
