Job Summary

This doctoral position, based in the Hadron and Nuclei research group at the Institute for Experimental Physics 1, focuses on Hadron and Baryon spectroscopy using data from the BESIII experiment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the data selection of Charmonium decays leading to final states with excited baryons as intermediate resonances. A key part of the role involves the interpretation of this data using a 'coupled channel amplitude analysis' across three datasets from the BESIII experiment. This is a crucial research role for someone holding a Master of Science in Physics, offering the opportunity to contribute significantly to experimental physics research while developing expertise in large-scale software packages, Partial Wave Analysis (PWA), and advanced data interpretation techniques. The position is part-time (75%) and limited to a three-year term, ideal for a dedicated researcher seeking a Ph.D. in this specialized field.
