Job Summary

This specialist role focuses on advancing Research Data Management (RDM) with a strong emphasis on semantic metadata modeling within the DFG-funded AIMS 2 project. The core responsibilities involve actively modeling specialized metadata profiles and further developing the underlying modeling approach. You will coordinate the creation of reusable, subject-specific metadata profiles in close collaboration with researchers across Materials Science, Physics, and Engineering disciplines. A critical component of the job is training and outreach: you will conduct workshops and trainings on the modeling approach and the AIMS platform, develop accessible learning resources, and communicate project outcomes to relevant communities, particularly within the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI). Success in this position requires a Master's degree in a scientific or engineering field, proven experience in documenting research data via metadata, strong methodological skills for teaching complex content, and fluent proficiency in both German and English.

Required Skills

Education

Completed scientific university degree (Master, Diploma, or comparable) in a natural science, engineering, or related field.

Experience

  • Professional experience in documenting research data using metadata
  • Strong affinity for digital data management and supporting academic research
  • Methodological and didactic knowledge for conducting events (especially workshops) and creating documentation/training materials
  • PhD or alternative relevant professional experience is advantageous
