Job Summary

This role involves contributing to a major, federally-funded research project (NUM-DIZ) focused on establishing a comprehensive knowledge management system for the UKSH medical center. The Digital Health Engineer will be instrumental in modeling and integrating interoperable knowledge management components using international standards like openEHR and HL7 FHIR. A core responsibility includes developing AI-based Natural Language Processing (NLP) systems for the automated processing of medical texts and findings. The ideal candidate holds a degree in (Medical) Informatics or a related field, possesses strong skills in software development, scripting (Python), and experience with Big Data technologies, distributed systems (Nifi, Kafka, ElasticSearch), Machine Learning, and NLP. This position requires excellent analytical skills, independent work habits, and collaboration with physicians, scientists, and national/international partners, offering excellent opportunities for scientific qualification and further education.
