The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing scientific reports and expert opinions for court, leading R&D projects in forensic methods, and developing advanced 3D reconstructions, potentially utilizing AI. Key requirements include a Master's degree in Geodesy and Geoinformation or a comparable scientific field, significant professional experience, and specific expertise in crime scene surveying and VR visualizations for forensic and judicial purposes. This position offers a meaningful career within a high-level federal authority, contributing directly to national security and the advancement of criminal investigation techniques, requiring flexibility for frequent national and international travel and operational deployments.

Required Skills

Education

Completed scientific university degree (Master's or equivalent) in Geodesy and Geoinformation or a comparable scientific field

Experience

  • Minimum 2.5 to 3.5 years of relevant practical professional experience, depending on the scope of studies
  • Experience in crime scene surveying
  • Experience with VR visualizations and reconstructions for forensic and judicial purposes

Additional

  • Willingness to undertake frequent domestic and international business travel and operational deployments (approx. 2 times per month, 1-5 days duration); Willingness to participate in on-call duty (approx. 5 times per year); Willingness to undergo an extended security clearance check (SÜG § 9); Mandatory requirement to provide a DNA sample for inclusion in the BKA's internal reference file; On-site work required (Home office only in exceptional cases).
