Job Summary

This role involves working within the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) to analyze and manage foreign investment transactions in German companies, focusing specifically on potential IT security risks that could threaten public order, security, or essential national security interests. The Policy Officer will be responsible for processing investment review procedures under relevant foreign trade law (AWG/AWV), which includes analyzing application documents, conducting technical, economic, and legal research, and coordinating the BSI's position. Day-to-day tasks include developing risk mitigation strategies, creating written statements for inter-ministerial coordination, and preparing reports and presentations for industry and government representatives.
