Job Summary

This role, based in Freiburg, Germany, offers the opportunity to join Tesla Engineering Germany in developing cutting-edge power electronics for global energy storage and vehicle charging systems. The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for the end-to-end design and modeling of complex mechanical components, including plastics, sheet metal, heat sinks, and insulation systems, specifically focusing on medium voltage applications. A core part of the role involves performing advanced mechanical design analysis, including thermal, CFD, and structural FEA simulations, to optimize performance and reliability. You will also address critical electronics packaging issues related to electrical isolation and EMI mitigation. Successful candidates must possess a BS degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, high-level experience with CATIA V5/V6, familiarity with PLM systems, and working knowledge of high-volume manufacturing processes like injection molding. This position allows you to own key projects and translate innovative concepts into mass-produced, sustainable energy solutions.
