Job Summary

This pivotal role involves joining the Vehicle Engineering team in Berlin to design, develop, validate, and launch cutting-edge interior components for next-generation automotive products. The Mechanical Design Engineer will manage the entire lifecycle of interior commodities, including Instrument Panel, Door Trim, and Console systems, balancing critical attributes such as styling, cost, mass, and manufacturability. Day-to-day tasks include utilizing CAD development, running CAE loops, creating detailed GD&T drawings, and root-causing issues during build and launch phases. A key function is acting as a liaison between US, CN, and Berlin engineering teams, collaborating closely with cross-functional groups like Studio, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain. Candidates must possess a strong background in Mechanical Engineering, extensive experience in automotive interiors, and proficiency in 3D modeling using CATIA V5 or V6.
