Job Summary

This role is for a highly motivated Research Associate and Doctoral Candidate to join the Physics Department at Philipps University, focusing on cutting-edge research in sustainable energy technologies. The primary focus will be on developing Perovskite-based tandem solar cells, specifically utilizing carbon back electrodes and improved optics. Day-to-day tasks involve conducting scientific services in research and teaching, performing advanced research on novel solar cell technologies, and publishing findings in international journals and conferences. The candidate will utilize state-of-the-art coating systems (Spin-coating, Blade-coating, ALD, Sputtering, Evaporation) and advanced luminescence-based measurement devices. This position offers the opportunity for independent scientific work, professional development through the Marburg Research Academy, and integration into prestigious international collaborations (e.g., Horizon Europe and DFG projects).

Required Skills

Education

Completed academic university degree (Diploma, Master, or equivalent) in Physics, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or comparable field. Willingness to pursue a doctoral project (PhD) in Perovskite tandem solar cells.

Experience

  • Experience in the fabrication and characterization of Perovskite solar cells with carbon back electrodes
  • Experience in the optical simulation of Perovskite solar cells
  • Experience in electronic management of research data with NOMAD Oasis
  • Enthusiasm for excellent scientific research and sustainable future technologies
