This role seeks an experienced PLC Programmer and Automation Engineer focused on engineering and retrofitting specialized machinery, particularly for complex systems like pharmaceutical isolators. Day-to-day responsibilities include programming special-purpose machines using Siemens (TIA Portal, Step7) and Rockwell control systems, taking software ownership within project teams, and optimizing existing PLC projects. You will be responsible for developing complex automation concepts, conducting rigorous software simulations and testing, and creating detailed software specifications. A key component of the role involves significant international travel (30-50%) to provide on-site customer support and assist with machine qualification according to GMP/GAMP5 guidelines. The ideal candidate holds a degree or technician qualification in Electrical Engineering or Automation Technology and possesses profound knowledge of both Siemens and Rockwell PLC systems.
