Job Summary

This role involves critical IT service management and security coordination for the German Deployment Equipment Battlefield Information Collection and Exploitation Systems (DEU EA BICES) within the German Federal Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) Command IT Services in Rheinbach. The IT Specialist will be responsible for planning, controlling, and monitoring all software installations and updates across client, server, telephony, and network technologies. Key duties include managing work packages, overseeing service delivery, and ensuring compliance with national and international configuration standards (NATO, BGX, DEUmilSAA). You will also handle 2nd and 3rd-level support for fault analysis and resolution, and implement operational and deployment requirements. This position requires a strong background in IT system operations, network administration, and security, offering the opportunity to work in a high-security environment with potential for civil servant status (Beamter/Beamtin) and regular domestic and international travel.

Required Skills

Education

University degree (Bachelor or Diploma FH) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or comparable field

Experience

  • Minimum three years of practical experience corresponding to the relevant university degree
  • Professional experience in operating an IT system with client-server architecture (Virtualization, Network Environment, Information Security) for at least two years
  • Professional experience in planning, implementation, and administration, including network configuration, for at least two years
