Job Summary
This role supports a prominent research group within the Medical Clinic 4, focusing specifically on the role of Lipoprotein Receptor Protein 1 (LRP1) in acute kidney injury as part of the TRR 374 framework. The Research Laboratory Technician will be responsible for executing a wide range of molecular and cellular biology techniques. Daily duties include maintaining cell cultures, performing histology and microscopy, and conducting protein analyses such as Western blotting, ELISA, and gel electrophoresis. Furthermore, the position requires expertise in nucleic acid analyses (PCR, qRT-PCR) and genetic engineering methods like cloning and transfections. Candidates must hold a qualification as a Biological or Medical Technical Assistant (BTA/MTA) or equivalent, possess strong molecular biology experience, and be proficient in English. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge nephrology research in a supportive team environment, offered initially as a part-time, fixed-term contract with the goal of potential extension.

Completed training as a Biological Technical Assistant (BTA), Medical Technical Assistant (MTA), or comparable qualification
Experience
- Professional experience in molecular biology techniques
- Experience in protein and RNA detection procedures (ELISA, real time PCR, Western blot)
- Routine handling of cell cultures
- Willingness to engage in animal experimentation (mice and zebrafish, advantageous)
